Your nickname and age:

Wanyusha: Hello I’m Wanyusha and I’m 22 yold!
Amaryllix: I’m Amaryllix and I’m 18 years old!
Mags: Hello, I am Margaret Bricks and I am 18 years old!

How did you discover cosplay and what made you start this hobby? How long ago?

W: I was 14 when I first found out about cosplay in general. It all started with watching anime and reading manga. One day I was searching for some anime fan arts and a random cosplay image popped up in my search. I thought to myself “how cool is that” and shortly after I started cosplaying. Haven’t stopped since.
A: I discovered cosplay four years ago when I was wondering what to do for a Halloween party, so I decided to go as Hinata from Naruto, and then I found out that this was actually a thing and it made me curious because it combined lots of skills and I decided to give it a more serious try.
M: I learned about cosplay 5 years ago from friends. At the beginning it wasn’t a thing that I was keen on making costumes and going on stage, but one of my closer friends made me try it. After that I actually enjoyed it and I continued doing it.

What was the reason behind your costume choice for the ICL preselection? Is this your first time joining an international cosplay competition?

W: I chose Rubick from Dota 2 because I love Dota 2 and I’m extremely sad that the game doesnt get enough recognition and people dont cosplay from it. I wanted to show the cool designs of the character and I hope someone has atleast googled it after they saw my cosplay. It is indeed my first time joining an international cosplay competition and I’m so excited because of it!
A: It is my first time joining an international competition and I wanted to do a character that I really admire. Daenerys is one of my most favourite characters ever and I found a reflection of myself in her, which inspired me to do her, and I have been planning to do her for a while so it only came naturally to overcome my fear and attempt to do her.
M: Well, that is actually a fun story. Let’s begin with this- I didn’t care if we would win, I actually didn’t believe that we will have a chance. I just thought it would be fun if I try a group cosplay. So one day I asked Liliya (Amaryllix) if she would want to be my partner and for my surprise she said yes and asked me if I would want us to be Missandei and Daenerys and I thought why not.

What does cosplay mean for you? And what is your favourite part of the hobby?

W: Cosplay is my way out of the monotonous and uncertain life. It’s where I find peace and can be myself without worrying about anyone or anything. I enjoy spending time shopping for materials, researching the costume and it’s origins and then making it. It might get a bit stressful at times but when you complete the final piece and see what you have made with your own hands – that’s the feeling I’m all addicted about.
A: Cosplay is my way of developing myself. It constantly challenges my skills and with every costume I can feel myself growing as a craftsman and also my imagination and logistical thinking. I love it when I learn new things, and cosplay always has something new to offer me. The thought of being someone else for a short period of time and analysing their characteristics never fails to excite me. I often do characters with different personalities because I want to explore the inner world of people with different points of view. I also enjoy doing the cosplay makeup, seeing your face as a representation of a fictional character is always a great fun to me!
M: Well, for me cosplay means to be everything that I want. As a fellow Bulgarian cosplayer says, these events are the place, where even for a day everyone can set their inner selves free and be what they really want. My favourite part of this hobby is surprising myself and the people around me with the things I do and seeing the smile on peoples faces when they see their favorite character coming to life
