How did you discover cosplay and what made you start this hobby? How long ago?

S: Since my childhood I wanted to create something unusual to embody fictional characters in reality and so it happened that in my city the festival was held and my friends and I learned and saw what cosplay is, it became a hobby and after ten years it was already work
MS: I have been in Cosplay for 10 years now. It was a long time ago,a small anime party was going to be held in my town. There I had seen a couple of people perform and cosplays, and I really wanted to be able to join because they looked awesome and seemed to be having so much fun. I’ve always loves to be crative,be it in sewing,jewelry-making or painting ,so cosplay quickly became a creative outlet where I could also create something amazing!
M: The 8 years ago I heard about the cosplay from my older friends, then I just Google it and I think “WOW ! I want to do the same! “ So when a friend asked me if I wanted to cosplay and go to convention, I jumped at the chance. My cosplay was self-made in a few days and wasn’t perfect, but I was walking around the con with it, people gave me so many compliments and started to talk with me,then I realized cosplay it was something I need to do again.

What was the reason behind your costume choice for the ICL preselection? Is this your first time joining an international cosplay competition?

S: I LOVE all Japanese and their culture as well as the monster hunter vird and in the year of the red dog I saw this image and I realized this sign that’s exactly what I want to create this year.
MS & M: We choose Sakizou Artwork because of details and interesting designs. We fell in love at the first sight with this dresses. A lot of laces, sparkles, gems we are girls and we love such things. Also it was a challenge to do costumes like this because we had only one month!

What does cosplay mean for you? And what is your favourite part of the hobby?

S: All … For me, there is no favorite or beloved, the entire creation process inspires, there are times when you do not understand what you are creating but the final result is always amazed
MS & M: Two very simple things : The first one would be that for both of us cosplay is community were we can meet a lot of amazing people and the possibility to shares the things we like ,enjoy the same hobby, make new friends and have fun at the stage. The second one Cosplay is „The Art of Self-Expression“ for us!
MS: I like it all , because when you make cosplay you put part of your heart into each piece of it. But last two years maybe my favorite part is wig styling ! For me it’s always challenge how to move hairstyle from picture to reality !
M: My favorite part is when all details and main part of costume done and you can feel yourself free in the role of a character and enjoy the final look!

What do you expect from your visit to Spain? Is your first time visiting the country?
