Poland 🇵🇱
Your nickname and age:
Atai: Atai, 18 – like every year 🙂
Bish: Bish, 19 years old.
Talon: Talon, age 20.
How did you discover cosplay and what made you start this hobby? How long ago?
A: I think it all began at primary school at my first convention. But I never really tried after some years passed.
B: About seven years ago I went to my first convention and there I found out what cosplay is. Four years later I thought to myself “Hey, why not to try?” I liked making and wearing costumes so much, that I’m into this ever since!
T: I knew about cosplay in a small Polish convention 5 years ago. I was inspired by a FMA cosplayer that was getting a lot of attention. With my first cosplay I failed hard, but a year later I tried again something different, this time with tutorials and I succeeded in creating my first armor. At that moment I knew that this is something that I want to do.
What was the reason behind your costume choice for the ICL preselection? Is this your first time joining an international cosplay competition?
A: I’m now playing Guild Wars 2 and this is my character in that game. This is not my first time, I also was a Polish representative for European Cosplay Gathering.
B: Well, to be honest Serana from Skyrim is not my favorite character. I wanted to have a reason to make this cosplay though – I love her design, I love making corsets, capes and it was my first costume from a long time that was actually pretty comfortable! As for the competition – no. I was representing Poland in this year’s Clara Cow’s Cosplay Cup.
T: As everyone, I really love TESV: Skyrim, and Dawnguard is my favorite DLC. At first I wasn’t really convinced by look of this armor, but when I got a heavy version I fell in love with that set and I just couldn’t keep myself from trying to craft it IRL. As for competitions that’s no. I was polish representative at Eurocosplay 2016 and part of the duo for Clara Cow’s Cosplay Cup Finals in 2018.
What does cosplay mean for you? And what is your favourite part of the hobby?
A: First of all this is a relax for me. Second is self-development. The favorite part is certainly when I try on the unfinished costume and I start to look like the character!
B: Making costumes makes me feel proud of things that I make and teaches me every day how to be more responsible when it comes to time management so it means a lot to me. My favorite part of this hobby is the actual making process – this is where the whole magic happens.
T: For me it’s a way to show myself on stage in front of a crowd. I really like performing, and being at the center of attention. And that means that the favorite part of cosplay for me is performing and creating the skit, also, I really love this look on everybody’s faces when I show up in some epic armor 😛
What do you expect from your visit to Spain? Is your first time visiting the country?
A: This is not my first time in Spain. I was studying in Seville for half of year. Hablo un poco español, pero tio, solamente un poco 😉 No puedo dar las respuestas en español. Sé que este viaje va a ser alguna experiencia especial para mí.
B: I’ve never been to Spain, but I thought about having a little trip to this country for a while now. What I expect is that I’ll be able to survive the heat, haha!
T: It’s my third time, but I’ve never been to Madrid. I do not expect anything in particular, but I’d really love to see this famous city and enjoy some warmth of the last days of the summer in this nice warm place. But not in my armor please :’D
Have you decided your project for the finals in Madrid? Can you give us a clue?
A: Yes of course I’m decided! I will upgrade my costume from preselections, because it’s so good that more people need to see it!
B: Yes, me and my friend have already decided what cosplays we will make for the finals. My costume will be mainly pink and I will have a pretty funny hat, so I can’t wait!
T: Yeah we did! We’ve chosen something heavily inspired by medieval history. Something with a lot of tin cans, katanas and beards 😀
Describe the cosplay community in your country using five words.
A: Like FAMILY … good on photos 😀
B: Creative, funny, helping, nice, growing.
T: A lot of people doing idols :”D
Where can we find your works?
